Moved by news of the Irish Famine in 1847 (‘Black 47’), the mighty Choctaw Nation gathered in Scullyville, Oklahoma and donated $170 for famine relief. Ironically in 1838-39, they were forced into relocation by Andrew Jackson of Scots-Irish parents.
