Homage to Sitting Bull (1831-1890) the Hunkpapa Lakota holy man and tribal chief who led his people's resistance against the anti-Indian policies of the US government. The uprisings included Red Cloud's War  (1866-1868), The Great Sioux War of 1876 and ending with the Battle of the Little Bighorn in 1876. Sitting Bull finally surrendered at Fort Buford in present-day North Dakota in 1881.
