The British Mark V tank was first deployed in 1918 during the Battle of Hamel on  July 4, 1918.  An upgraded version of the Mark IV tank - 400 were built, 200 Males and Females; the "Males" armed with 6-pounder guns and machine guns, the "Females" with machine guns only.
