A digital recreation of a 1603 map depicting Iceland in remarkable Viking inspired detail. Fjords, glaciers and polar bears can all be clearly viewed in graphic detail. While the map is far from accurate, it depicts for the first time a meaningful depiction of all known settlements. Featured on the right of the map, is the small island of Papey, once inhabited by Irish monks prior to nordic settlements.
